254SMO（UNS S31254）is an austenitic stainless steel. Due to its high molybdenum content, it has extremely high resistance to pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion.

254SMO super austenitic:
1. Ultra-low carbon resists sensitization
2. Passes Strauss test post-welding
3. Resists pure/chlorinated sulfuric acid
4. Limited HCl use (avoid crevices)
5. Tolerates H₂SiF₄/HF
6. High crevice corrosion resistance in seawater
7. High N for strength + ductility/impact/weldability
