Feature
Hastelloy C-22 is a versatile nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy offering superior overall corrosion resistance compared to other existing Ni-Cr-Mo alloys, including Hastelloy C-276, C-4, and Alloy 625. It provides excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. The alloy performs exceptionally well in oxidizing aqueous media such as wet chlorine, nitric acid, and mixed acids containing oxidizing chlorides.
Hastelloy C-22 is highly resistant to a wide variety of chemical environments, including strong oxidizers like ferric chloride, cupric chloride, chlorine, hot contaminated solutions (both organic and inorganic), formic acid, acetic acid, acetic anhydride, seawater, and brine. Additionally, the alloy resists grain boundary precipitation in the weld heat-affected zone, allowing it to be used in as-welded condition for many chemical processing applications.

Hastelloy C-22 is widely used in chemical processing, nuclear fuel handling, and various industrial equipment, especially in demanding environments requiring exceptional corrosion resistance.
