Hastelloy X Nickel Alloy
Hastelloy X(UNS N06002) is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum high-temperature alloy that possesses excellent high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance, and can operate continuously at 1200°C. Its high chromium content (22%) forms a stable oxide layer, making it suitable for extreme high-temperature environments such as aircraft engine combustion chambers and industrial furnaces.

Feature
Alloy X is a Ni-Cr-Mo alloy with added cobalt and tungsten. It exhibits excellent oxidation resistance up to 1200°C in neutral/reducing atmospheres and resists carburizing/nitriding environments.
Processing
1. Good hot workability (forging at 1170°C)
2. Grain size controlled by deformation/finish-forging temperature
3. Weldable via TIG, seam, spot welding
4. Direct charging into high-temperature furnaces permitted
5. Requires fine-grit abrasives for oxide removal due to strong slag adhesion
