TB3 Titanium
TB3 alloy is a metastable β-type titanium alloy independently developed in China, featuring heat-treatable strengthening, excellent cold formability, and a good balance of strength and toughness. Compared to α-β alloys, it has a slightly higher density and lower high-temperature creep resistance. B3 is primarily used in aerospace fasteners such as rivets, bolts, and screws. It offers strong corrosion resistance in the solution-treated condition and is suitable for long-term service below 200°C (for rivets) or 300°C (for bolts). The alloy supports defined heat treatment processes to achieve strength grades of 800 MPa or 1100 MPa. It also offers good machinability, making it ideal for mass production of standard fasteners.

Feature
TB3 titanium alloy boasts a meticulously calibrated composition aimed at stabilizing the β phase even at ambient temperatures. Its matrix is predominantly titanium, complemented by essential alloying elements.
TB3 demonstrates remarkable mechanical properties, especially post heat treatment. In the solution-treated and aged state, it reaches a minimum tensile strength of around 1100 MPa and yield strength of 1000 MPa, ranking among the strongest titanium alloys. Despite its high strength, it retains 8-12% elongation at break, enabling fabrication via rolling, forging, and bending. Its excellent fatigue resistance benefits components under cyclic loading, while its heat resistance allows maintaining useful strength up to 316°C, suitable for various structural uses.
