TC1 Titanium
TC1 alloy is a low-strength, high-ductility near-α titanium alloy containing 2% aluminum and 1.5% manganese. It offers excellent formability, weldability, and thermal stability. Used in the annealed condition and not suitable for strengthening via solution treatment and aging, TC1 is ideal for stamped and welded sheet metal parts. With a long-term service temperature of up to 350°C, it is widely applied in aircraft structures and aero-engine components such as skins and formed panels. Developed in China in the early 1960s, TC1 has become an important structural material in the aerospace industry.

Feature
Its chemical composition, based on titanium, contains 2.0-3.0% aluminum for α-phase stabilization and strength enhancement, and 0.8-1.5% manganese to promote β-phase and improve formability. Strict impurity limits safeguard structural integrity.
Mechanically, TC1 boasts a tensile strength of 600-700 MPa and yield strength of 450-550 MPa, with 15-20% elongation, enabling forging, rolling, and welding. It performs stably up to 350°C and offers adequate fatigue resistance, though its high-temperature strength is modest compared to α+β grades.
Corrosion-resistant due to its self-forming oxide layer, TC1 withstands atmosphere, fresh and seawater, and general industrial conditions well, though it's not optimized for strong reducing acids.
