316L Stainless Steel
316L is a low-carbon variant of 316 austenitic stainless steel, designed for enhanced weldability. Its composition includes 16-18% chromium, 10-14% nickel, 2-3% molybdenum, with carbon content ≤0.03%—lower than 316’s 0.08% max.
The reduced carbon minimizes carbide precipitation during welding, preventing intergranular corrosion in welded areas. It retains 316’s excellent chloride and chemical resistance, ideal for saltwater and harsh environments.

Feature
The low-carbon characteristic ensures more stable performance during welding and within the sensitization temperature range (450~850°C), eliminating the need for post-weld annealing. It exhibits excellent cold workability and formability, and remains non-magnetic in solution-annealed state (though slight magnetization may occur after cold working).

Highly Corrosive Environments: Chemical reactors, pickling equipment, offshore platform structures.
Medical Implants: Orthopedic instruments, vascular stents (excellent biocompatibility).
Welded Components: Pipeline weld joints, nuclear power plant auxiliary systems (no risk of intergranular corrosion).
