316H Stainless Steel
316H is a high-carbon austenitic stainless steel grade, a modified version of UNS S31600. Its chemical composition specifies 16.0-18.0% Cr, 10.0-14.0% Ni, 2.0-3.0% Mo, with carbon controlled between 0.04-0.10%—exceeding standard 316’s 0.08% maximum.
This intentional carbon elevation enhances high-temperature creep resistance and rupture strength, critical for sustained service at 650-870°C. It maintains excellent pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chloride environments, inherited from 316’s molybdenum addition.
