Stainless Steel 316 is a premium austenitic stainless steel, renowned for superior corrosion resistance compared to 304. Its composition includes 16-18% chromium, 10-14% nickel, and 2-3% molybdenum—This molybdenum addition enhances resistance to chlorides and harsh chemicals.
It offers excellent formability, weldability, and mechanical strength across a wide temperature range. With good creep and oxidation resistance at high temperatures, it performs reliably in demanding environments.

Feature
This molybdenum-containing (2%~3%) austenitic stainless steel delivers significantly enhanced corrosion resistance compared to 304, particularly for chloride-rich and acidic environments. The molybdenum addition substantially improves resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, making it exceptionally suitable for marine applications, chemical processing equipment, and pharmaceutical industries. The material is non-magnetic in solution-annealed condition and features a broad operating temperature range (-196°C to 800°C).Adding 2-3% molybdenum (Mo) significantly enhances resistance to chloride and acidic corrosion, making it suitable for harsher environments.
